We should consider teaching students "self care" especially after going through the last two years of the pandemic. Many people are "languishing" which is the space between thriving (flourishing) and having mental health issues (anxiety/depression). According to Adam Grant, people who are languishing now are the one's that are most likely to have depression issues in the future (not the people who are depressed now). One way to help get out of languishing is to find your Flow state. Flow is the state of total absorption in an activity... where you lose track of time. Peak flow requires active participation in the real world (so it doesn't include binge watching Ted Lasso). Here are the three components of Flow:
