Preparation
Students will be assigned an animal. This can be done by letting the students select an animal, draw an animal randomly, or the teacher can assign one. If there are two classes, one class can do Arctic animals and the other Antarctic Animals. Teachers can choose to have multiple students select the same animal or have each student work on a unique animal.

Resources
Students will use books and websites for this project. This project can include time in the library with a lesson on reference, non-fiction books and or information literacy. A website can be created that provides text, audio, and video for research purposes. The website can be designed to make the research easy for students to find the information (all of it is provided for them without much work) or they will have to extract the information by taking notes.
