Chapter 1 (Sept)
The big ideas in Chapter 1 are sorting, counting and finding sameness and differences within the range of 1-5. Language development and the quantitative relationships between these small numbers is crucial. Stress the importance of comparing and counting small numbers to students who may already know them.
