The Wild Classroom site has a great video about the rainforest and includes other useful information such as what is a rainforest, the layers of a rainforest, a biome map, temperature vs precipitation chart, etc.

Rainforest Alliance has two activities which may be what you are looking for. Jewel of the Earth is a game where you match animals to the correct layer of the rainforest. This could be a nice way to introduce the idea of the different layers (emergent, canopy, understory, and forest floor). There is also a tab called "My World" which has photos and descriptions of the indiginous people of Paso Caballos in Guatemala.
Here is a cheat sheet for the Jewel of the Earth game.

This video talks about the Mbuti's way of life and traditions. At the end it describes how their way of life is at risk. Note, with respect to showing this video to the Kindergarten class, be aware there is one quick scene with a baby breastfeeding. The scary information is at the end and in text format. You can end the video early, but they will not be able to read and understand it in either case.

This introduction video by Cornell Ornithology and National Geographic shows some amazing video footage of birds in the rainforest. You can just show the beginning where they show footage of some of the birds.

Here is a site I created for a first grade research project on rainforest animals. I haven't updated it in many years (but can).

This Virtual Rainforest site has videos and descriptions of many animals in the rainforest.
