A couple of months ago Elizabeth Lockwood asked me how to get rid of ads and related videos from a YouTube video she was showing for class. This morning I was listening to the Google Teacher Podcast and learned about ViewPure, a product that can:

Example of a ViewPure video:

Simple to use:
Step 1: Find a YouTube video you want to purify
Step 2: Paste it into the field on theViewPure homepage that says "Enter YouTube URL or search term..."
Step 3: Click "Purify"
There are options to create custom URLs (alphanumeric), add passwords, and choose video start and end times. You can add it to a playlist, get the embed code, or generate a QR Code. Click here to take a tour of ViewPure.
An alternative way to remove ads and related videos is to add the video to a Google Slide and show it from there.

YouTube Audio Library - Free Music and Sound Effects
Did you know that YouTube has an audio library where you can download free music and sound effects to use for your projects? You can sort the enormous collection of music by genre, mood, instrument, duration, attribution or search bar.
An alternative site that Mr. Lieberman recommends is Freeplay Music. |
Turn a YouTube Clip into a GIF
Here's a super easy way to turn a YouTube clip into a GIF. Directly from the Google Teacher Tribe Podcast website:
Animated GIF images are so much fun, and can make it really easy to show students and teachers how to do things. This is an easy trick using a tool called GIFYT. Simply type the letters GIF after www., and before youtube, and you will be directed to the site to create our GIF. These GIFs can be up to 15 seconds long, and you can select the exact portion of the video you wish to use. |
