Overview
Technology is fully integrated into the Second Grade curriculum and is used in a variety of ways. Second grade is a transitional year. The students can read, are comfortable working on a computer, have a longer attention span, are capable of following more complex instructions, and can handle larger projects. Second graders will be transitioning from simpler applications they used in Kindergarten and First Grade and starting to use standard applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Docs. They will begin to learn how to locate, interpret and use information. This is the grade to start introducing students to some more advanced concepts such as fonts, editing, word processing and spreadsheets.
